The Tintern Grammar Library laser cutter is an exciting and accessible feature of the STEAM centre.

On this page we will feature works from staff and students, as well as hosting guides and templates for your laser cutter projects.

Meet the laser cutter

Trotec Speedy 300

The laser cutters of the Speedy series offer students safety, speed, intelligent functions and the most innovative technical design on the market.

Fairy coaster based off Brian Froud's book Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Collection. The fairy is reverse photo engraved on transparent 3mm troglass.

Art coaster based on Alphonse Mucha's Medee poster. The central figure is photo engraved onto black frosted TroGlass, while the circular deisng and title has been laser cutter on 2 ply Trolase.

Student designed light boxes printed on MDF, to be used with a tealight candle.

Laser cut dodecahedron printed on MDF.

Student designed christmas tree decoration printed on bamboo veneer.

Library genre signage. The white and black sections have been printed using 2 ply TroLase, white the circles have been printed ona variety of TroGlass, all attached to a MDF backing.

Dungeons and Dragons shelf signage in the library. The design has been printed on two different TroGlass, a gloss red, and a mirrored silver.

The door signs seen around the school are made on the library laser cutter, using a combination of TroLase and Troglass.

The laser cutter regularly produces badges and other designs to sell for charity events, such as these diversity badges from 2022 cut form Torlase and glitter acrylic.
